2023 marks our 20th year of working with tipis!! After several years of owning our first tipis and experiencing the peace and beauty of sleeping under the stars and then becoming involved with the first Bestivals on the Isle of Wight, Eve’s Tipis was founded in 2008 by Eve and her family. We wanted to offer others the opportunity to share those experiences and the wonderful feeling of space you get inside a tipi – unlike many ordinary tents, you can stand up in them! As the idea of ‘glamping ‘ and ’boutique camping’ grew, we began to offer luxurious tipis, filled with colourful rugs and soft floor cushions for the ultimate in holiday, event or festival accommodation.
Our tipis range from cosy 10ft diameter for one or two people or for a children’s party, through large 20ft diameter sleeping up to six for a family holiday or shared festival accommodation up to our largest 26ft tipi, which is mainly used for weddings. Soft drapes and colour-themed furnishings can be provided for honeymoon tipis to create the ultimate romantic setting.
Living and working from our beautiful Island, we believe in sustainability, recycling and promoting the well-being of wildlife. Our poles are obtained locally where possible, but always from responsibly managed woodlands and our pegs are made by a rural family business in Dorset. Some of our tipis are handmade by a family friend, whilst others have been ‘imported’ from a small family run business in Cornwall. Everything possible is recycled and offcuts of wood from shaping the poles are used for our woodburner and open fires. Sawdust is used in our composting toilets.

I would definitely recommend grabbing a tipi… we went to Bestival for the first time last year and hired one of Eve’s Tipis and didn’t regret the extra expenditure for one minute. If you are of an older vintage like myself, you’ll appreciate the extra comfort and better facilities. It was great as the tipi was only a 5 min walk from the main band arena so could go for a chill and refresh whenever we liked. Eve was lovely and went out of her way to make us feel really welcome – we are definitely hiring one again this year!
